Our Philosophy
Enjoyment for All Children
Mission Statement: Klein Soccer Club shall be responsible for the promotion of physical health, mental and emotional growth and to develop, govern, and promote the game of soccer at all levels of age and competition.
Furthermore, we shall abide by all the current and future rules, regulations, and bylaws mandated by the Timberline Youth Soccer Association (TYSA), South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA), and the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA).
Recreational Youth Soccer for Children
Klein Soccer Club is a recreational youth soccer program that is a non-profit organization. We exist as a service to the community, families, and children that live in our area. KSC believes that children develop a love for sports and the game of soccer by thriving in a fun environment where they can learn and compete. Scores are not kept at younger ages (below 7 years of age). In addition, ages 6 and under play on a smaller field with a 3 versus 3 format. This promotes more touches on the ball and a more exciting environment for the child. From age 7 to 8, score keeping and referees are introduced. The field becomes larger and an additional player is added for a 4 versus 4 format. Ages 9 and 10 move to a larger field with 6 versus 6 and goalies are introduced. At age 13, the children progress to full 11 versus 11 soccer on a full-size soccer field.
Klein Soccer Club's progression of smaller teams at younger ages helps develop player's coordination and ability. The organization utilizes this progression to teach children and move them to true 11 versus 11 soccer on a full-size soccer field. In addition, we have a progression of coach's training that helps them teach age-appropriate drills and fun games for practice. Klein has the ability to provide this superior experience for the community's children due to its professional-grade facilities at Meyer Park. The park contains a variety of field sizes within its 172 acres.
Our organization provides a fun sports environment for children so they develop a love for physical activity and fitness. Unlike many youth sports organizations in the area, we do not exist to earn a profit. Our budget is reinvested in field maintenance, uniforms, coaches training, and certified referees.
The biggest compliment to Klein Soccer Club's 30-plus year history and philosophy is its second-generation of coaches and parents. Many parents that played as children are now coaching and bringing their children to play at Klein. We hope that your children enjoy Klein Soccer Club too.
